Our Story

SV-Audio by Storgaard & Vestskov began as a
family dream
Not as a business idea, but as a shared desire to create something together — driven by the realization that the loudspeaker they were personally searching for did not yet exist.

Over time, that idea reached a turning point. Either the work would be taken seriously and realized pr
operly, or it would be left behind.

Casper Vestskov Poulsen comes from a corporate manufacturing background, working with CNC-machined steel and aluminum components as a sub-supplier. More than 25 years in precision CNC manufacturing shaped a deep understanding of materials, tolerances, and process control.
Kim Storgaard comes from listening and creating. Seventeen years of teaching acoustics and loudspeaker design refined his understanding of sound — not only as theory, but as something that must hold together in practice, across real rooms and long listening sessions.

Together, they committed to a way of working where every design decision is tested through listening — and only accepted if it results in a loudspeaker they would choose to live with themselves.
The work behind SV-Audio began before the company had a name.

What started as a practical investigation into loudspeaker behavior gradually became a longer process of listening, measuring, revising, and removing. Early on, it became clear that many systems added character or emphasis that distracted from the recording itself. The challenge was not to add more, but to remove what did not belong.

Doing the Essential Work Ourselves

To work this way, control became unavoidable.

From the beginning, SV-Audio was shaped around doing the essential work ourselves — not as a statement, but as a necessity. Research and development, crossover design, CNC machining of aluminum components, paint shop, system integration, and final assembly are kept close because the work demands it.

FRIDA as a Reference

Frida was the first loudspeaker where this approach fully came together — not as a one-off design, but as a reference.

It was developed with clear objectives: real low-frequency extension, a stable soundstage, and balance that holds up over long listening sessions — combined with a design that established a clear visual identity.
There were no shortcuts.

When further refinement stopped improving the sound, the work stopped.

Design and Craftsmanship

Casper Vestskov Poulsen’s early sketches led to design decisions that remain consistent across every SV-Audio loudspeaker. One of these is the sun-inspired aluminum front baffle — a quiet reference to Bornholm, known as the sunshine island.

The design is not symbolic alone. Its characteristic pattern is engineered to reduce unwanted reflections at the source, supporting clarity and allowing the recording to remain intact.

This principle is applied across the entire range — both as a visual identity and a functional decision.

Performance

Whenever you meet SV-Audio, you will hear recordings from real life — recordings people already know from radio, television, clubs, and everyday listening.

This matters because we build loudspeakers that bring you closer to what you already love — allowing familiar recordings to be rediscovered through honest reproduction.

A Continuous Journey

This is the story behind SV-Audio. The story ends here. The philosophy continues.
